Spellbinders October 2017 Blog Hop + Giveaway

Welcome to the Spellbinders October 2017 blog hop! I am tickled pink to be a part of this hop! For those of you who do not know, Spellbinders was my first design team. I designed for Spellbinders for almost 5 years! This is where my love of die cutting came from, my start in this industry began, and where I met some of my dearest friends. Thank you, Spellbinders, for including me in this fun release hop. Its wonderful to be joining in with you again!

One of the features that Spellbinders dies are known for is their beautiful embossed details! Meaning, the insides of the die cut images are as lovely as the cutting edge outlines! I wanted to take advantage of those details in this die set, Shapeabilities Poppies Etched Dies.

My current obsession is the color copper, so when a new-to-me product comes in that color, you know I will not stop using it! This new product is called, wax paste. The paste adds an elegant shine to surfaces it is applied upon. From paper to wood to metal, the paste makes all things pretty. :D

Shapeablities Poppies Etched Dies contains the main floral image, two flowers, a leaf, and a bud. The extra pieces layer perfectly over the base image, allowing you to add depth. After cutting each of the images, I applied the wax paste. The wax paste can be applied with a paintbrush, a sponge, or your finger. I like using my finger, as it gives me more control (in my mind ha!). I kept the coverage sparse and antique-looking on these flowers. But you can continue to layer the wax paste until the image is entirely covered.

So lovely and simple to create. This card is elegant and ready to send to someone who needs a bright spot in their day!

Aside from the eye candy, the best part about this blog hop is that there are TWO chances to win! Yay! So generous of Spellbinders!!

Completely different way to use this die - from the bright red and beautiful normal way I've seen it. This is like delicate old wallpaper and very pretty as well. The value of blog hops is seeing so many different ideas using same products.
